This has been long awaited because I had to gather my coins to cop the hottest foundation on the market - I'm sorrryyyyy! As y'all know, I go to school in the middle of nowhere so there is no Sephora down here. I literally had to guess and base my decision off the shades of other beauty bloggers when finding my shade.
Before buying and even looking at my shade, I watched ENDLESS videos on this whole collection. Because I'm a foundation junkie, I only brought the foundation because that's really all I had money for (#BrokeCollegeStudent - Cash App me $SharonBMills). I literally took a leap of faith and brought the shade 380 off of Sephora and it was a $34 well spent.
This foundation retails for $34 and is available in 40 shades. I've never had that many options in all my years of buying foundation. You also get a little over 1 ounce of product (1.08 oz to be exact). To compare this to another foundation, NARS All Day Luminous has exactly 1 ounce of product for $49. The foundation is Medium coverage (Rihanna's makeup always gives fresh face so this is obviously expected), has a matte finish and is for all skin types. It is also 100 PERCENT cruelty free :)
I've actually looked up some of the ingredients of this foundation and their purposes. There are 6 ingredients that help smooth, moisturize and protect the skin from UV rays. There are also extracts of fruits like Papaya and Pineapple (which is described as a skin conditioner).
*A list of all the ingredients and their purposes are listed here*
I used the shade 380 and it is described to be for tan to deep skin with cool red undertones. Because of all the reviews that I watched, everyone kept pointing out the need to not use as much powder because it has a liquid to powder finish so I adjusted my routine of using primer, translucent powder, foundation, pressed powder, concealer, and translucent powder under the eye.
I just used my primer, foundation, concealer, then translucent powder under the eyes.
*I applied this foundation around 10:30 AM
On my very first use, I used the following products
*I chose not to set with my usual Urban Decay Deslick because I felt like it would not compliment the foundation from what I've heard from reviews.
I give this foundation a 9.5 out of 10. No I'm not gassing, this foundation is just really that bomb. It also feels amazing to know that this brand is owned by a Black woman :) My next purchases from this brand will definitely be her beauty sponge, the gloss, and the stix's (cream to powder finish). She is also dropping a holiday collection that I will try to get my hands on if my funds allow me to. But overall, I love this foundation and it will most likely be my new everyday foundation.
